Wash fruits and vegetables. Replenish and store snacks as needed.
This is a great opportunity for volunteers accompanied by younger children. Upon arrival, restock bagged snacks and store them in the EATS cabinet for the evening. Bagged snacks get put away before dismissal. Fruits and veggies will stay out for students looking for snacks at the end of the day.
The goal is for all snacks, other than fruits and veggies to be put away fully stocked and ready to be put out the next morning. This opportunity will also involve receiving deliveries of fruits and veggies and washing them so they are ready to go.
Please be aware, volunteers under 18 are not allowed in the cafeteria kitchen. They can be setup at a nearby table to dry fruit that has been washed and arrange it in containers. Bagging cereal is also a good task for younger volunteers.
