  • 60 Minute Volunteer Opportunity!

    Upcoming Dates

    10:45 AM - 11:45 AM

2nd-grade students from The Josiah Quincy School Elementary School are coming to the courthouse to participate in the Teddy Bear Mock Trial, where they determine the rightful owners of a teddy bear, left outside at recess.

Your Role As A Volunteer: As a volunteer, your responsibility would be working with student lawyers to help them craft the opening statements, witness questions, and closing arguments that they will deliver during the trial. The time commitment for volunteering is only an hour. We offer optional 45-minute monthly volunteer training at the Moakley Courthouse.  Volunteer scripts are provided and Discovering Justice staff is always available to answer any questions or provide assistance. Discovering Justice staff facilitate and are present at every field trip.

Please find a volunteer guide here and tips for volunteers here
