Canines for Disabled Kids
Canines for Disabled Kids (CDK) increases personal independence for children with disabilities through the use of service dogs by: • Providing families personalized information and guidance throughout the process of finding a service dog training program for their child’s specific needs. • Awarding scholarships to help offset the cost of training a service dog • Presenting educational programs to schools, businesses and other community organizations which build gateways for canine service teams. • Offering ongoing support and advice to individuals, schools, legal entities, etc. regarding service team issues related to the practical application of ADA regulations. All services provided by CDK are free of charge to the individual, family or community.
Mission: Increasing independence for children with disabilities and their families through the use of service dogs by creating partnerships, understanding and awareness throughout the community.
